Marketing Strategy for Construction & Trades

A focused session that finds why your business wins work, turned into a costed 90-day marketing plan. Strategy before you spend.

The short answer

What is a marketing strategy session?

A marketing strategy session is a focused half or full day where we dig into your business, your market, your customers and your competitors to find what actually makes you win work. We turn that into a clear, costed plan of what to do next, and what to stop doing.

Most trades and construction firms market on guesswork, a bit of everything with no clear reason behind it. A strategy session fixes that before you spend another pound. We start from evidence, not a blank page: before the day we research your competitors and take an honest read on where your marketing is now. In the session we find your differentiated value, the real reason customers choose you, then pin down your ideal client, where to reach them, and the few channels worth testing first. You leave with a costed marketing plan, usually a focused 90-day sprint, so the work starts fast instead of sitting in a drawer. It is a paid piece of thinking you can act on with us, or take away and run yourself.

Why it matters

How it helps your business.

Most trades and construction businesses market on guesswork. A bit of social, a directory listing, a website that has not changed in three years, and no clear reason behind any of it. When the diary is full it all stops, and when work goes quiet there is nothing steady to fall back on. That is not a marketing problem, it is a strategy problem.

We start with what already works, then turn it into a plan you can act on:

  • Your differentiated value: why customers really choose you. Not a slogan, but the way you run a job, the standard you hold, or the problem you take off their hands.
  • The ideal client worth building around, where they actually look for a firm like yours, and the handful of channels worth testing first.
  • What to stop doing, so your budget and your time stop leaking into things that were never going to work.
  • A start from evidence, not a blank page: before the day we research your competitors and take an honest read on where your marketing stands today.
  • What you leave with: clarity, and a costed marketing plan, usually a focused 90-day sprint, so momentum starts straight away.

Strategy only pays off when it is delivered. The plan runs through marketing implementation on a monthly retainer, inside the Booked Solid System for trades or the Preferred Contractor Programme for civils and construction. Book a call and we will start with the thinking, then build from there.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is it a half day or a full day?

Both are available. A half day suits a business with a clear offer that needs direction and a plan. A full day gives us room to go deeper on positioning, the ideal client and the channel mix when there is more to untangle. We will tell you honestly which one your situation needs before you book.

Who should be there from our side?

The people who make the decisions. Usually that is the owner or managing director, plus anyone who owns marketing or sales if you have them. We keep the room small on purpose. We need the people who can say yes, not a committee.

What do we actually walk away with?

Clarity, and a costed marketing plan you can act on. That means your differentiated value written down, the ideal client to build around, the channels worth testing first, and a focused 90-day sprint that says what happens and in what order. It is a plan you could hand to any competent marketer and get moving.

Do we need existing data or reports to make it worthwhile?

No. It helps if you have it, and we will use whatever you can share, but we do our own competitor research and a read on your current position beforehand. The session works whether you have years of analytics or nothing but a phone full of finished jobs.

What if we already have a brand we are happy with?

Good, we build on it. Strategy is not a rebrand. If your name and look are working we leave them alone and focus on positioning, message and where you show up. If something is genuinely holding you back we will say so, with a reason, and you decide.

How soon can we start implementing?

Fast. The plan is built as a 90-day sprint precisely so delivery can begin the moment it is signed off. If you move into marketing implementation with us, we pick up the plan and start on the first actions without a gap.

Is it worth it for a smaller business?

Often it matters more. When budget is tight you cannot afford to waste it on marketing that was never going to land. A day spent deciding what to do, and what to ignore, is usually the cheapest way to stop that happening.

What happens after the strategy session?

You own the plan either way. You can take it and run it yourself, or we deliver it for you inside the Booked Solid System or the Preferred Contractor Programme, month on month, and adjust as the results come in.
